Week 35 of Unemployment

I have nothing good to say about my pitiful job search this week, though I did invoice 8 hours of work. Woo hoo. Instead, I will just tell you about the fun stuff that's going on here!

We finished up January, and it turned out to be the 4th snowiest January in Concord since 1870 with 38.1 inches of snow.

And February started off pretty good with about 20 inches during our two-day snowstorm this week. Another one coming tomorrow!

Punxsutawney Phil may have seen no shadow this week, predicting spring will be here early, but you wouldn't be able to tell if you lived in these parts, where there's still close to 3 feet of snow on the ground. And we say, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

On Wednesday, during the said snowstorm, J had a snow day. That is one of the days I had to work. Go figure.

The night of the said snowstorm, we braved the roads to head up north and attend the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour with our friends. We went last year and left very inspired. Pretty much the same deal this year. We already reserved our tickets for next year and officially decided Banff is on our list of places we want to go.

Awhile ago, we discovered that Concord had a weekly auction. We used to go to weekly auctions in Danville. For us, it was the thing to do on Saturday evenings. Local culture, very entertaining and we often came across sweet finds. Every item was made of "URN." It took us many time before we figured out the person was saying "iron." Anyways, we finally went to the one in Concord (much, much more organized than Danville's) and it brought back great memories. We may become regulars if we can squeeze it in between soccer.

I have been experimenting with making time-lapse videos. Unsuccessfully so far. If anyone has advice about some editing software, please share.

Peace out friends.
